Self love is important but complicated. It is the fuel that keeps us going. But some, like myself can confuse the love with something else. Something that pushes us into a state of almost self-hate. Overly criticizing thoughts, acts of punishment, anxiety and depression take over and become the fuel that drives us into what we think is self-love. Negative and destructive thoughts become normal and we begin to believe them. Loving thoughts are cocky and we feel we don’t deserve them.
